Have you been struggling with the contact, or is your horse finding it hard to understand what you are asking? Choosing the right bit for your horse can have a big impact on their ridden behaviour.
Changing the bit to one that suits the horse can immediately improve many factors, such as maintaining contact, way of going, increase in stride length, self carriage, suppleness through the body, straightness, softness and willingness to work for you. Often the wrong bit can inhibit freedom of movement and willingness to work with the rider.
Alongside the usual bitting advice and consultation I also offer a contact training session to help you and your horse to be comfortable in their new bit and improve on any issues you’ve been having. In this session I teach you how to achieve a contact and the methods to maintain it throughout every pace. If your horse leans, we can work on how to prevent it, we can work on suppleness, bending, evasions and any other issues you may be having. These sessions can really help you reach your goals with your horse.
