Remote Horse Bit fitting Consultation

Expert Bitting Advice - Wherever You Are in the World

If you are struggling with your horse’s bit but cannot book an in person appointment, my remote horse bit fitting consultation offers structured, professional advice wherever you are based. This is not generic bit suggestions. It is a detailed, welfare focused assessment based on your horse, your training stage and your specific concerns.

Not sure where to start? My downloadable bitting guides cover the most common problems riders face, from evasions to finding the right bit for a young or strong horse. Order one from the shop before your consultation and you’ll already be one step ahead. There are three guides in the series: Common Bit Evasons, Bits For a Strong Horse and Bits For a Young Horse, they can also be found on Amazon.

Is This You?

You’ve tried different bits. You’ve asked around. You’re still not getting the answers you need.

Maybe your horse is showing tongue evasions, inconsistent contact, tension in the bridle, or resistance you just can’t explain. Maybe you feel like you’re guessing and you’re tired of it.

That’s exactly what this consultation is for.

Common Signs I Can Help With

• Tongue over the bit

• Leaning or becoming heavy in the hand

• Inconsistent or unstable contact
• Resistance when moving up a level in training
• Young horses struggling to understand the bit
• Behaviour changes when the bit is introduced
• Confusion between strength and discomfort

How the Remote Consultation Works

After booking, you will receive a structured questionnaire and asked to provide clear photo and videos.  This allows me to assess your horse’s mouth conformation, current bit, bridle fit, way of going, and training stage in detail.

Once you return the completed information, I carefully review everything and prepare a detailed written report tailored specifically to your horse.

Your report includes analysis of the likely cause of the issue, clear explanations, bit recommendations where appropriate, and practical guidance on how to introduce changes safely and correctly.

You will receive your personalised report within five working days.

• A structured questionnaire to gather accurate information
• Clear guidance on the photos and videos required
• A detailed written assessment tailored to your horse
• Bit recommendations where appropriate

Why Choose Equine Bitting Solutions

Equine Bitting Solutions is built on practical experience, rider education, and a welfare first approach. I’m fully independent, not tied to any brand, not trying to sell you a particular bit. Every recommendation I make is based entirely on what’s right for your horse.  I work with many horses and riders across the South East of England providing in person horse bit fitting services, and I bring that same structured, professional approach to every remote consultation.

I’ve spent years studying biomechanics, equine behaviour and psychology, and classical training. I contribute regularly to national publications including Your Horse Magazine, and I draw on the Ridden Horse Pain Ethogram to help identify when physical discomfort may be at the root of what looks like a training or bitting problem.

The bit is part of a bigger picture. I look at all of it.
